Head Coach, Novice Coach Ted Matherly

Ted Matherly came to Maryland in the Fall of 2006, and served as an assistant coach for two years before becoming the head coach during the 2008 season.  In his first full season, his varsity 4 placed 11th at the 2009 ACRA National Championship Regatta.

He rowed for the University of Michigan for four years, placing 7th at the Head of the Charles in 2005 and 13th in the junior varsity at IRAs in June 2006.  He also coached at Ann Arbor Rowing Club during the summer of 2006.

Varsity Coach Dan Fineberg

Dan began his rowing career as a Freshman on the University of Maryland Men’s Crew. In the fall of his freshman year he coxed the Freshmen 4 to a third place finish at Head of the Occoquan. That spring Dan coxed the Freshmen 4 to a 3rd place finish at Mid Atlantic Collegiate Crew Championships. In his sophomore year, Dan led the Varsity Lightweight 8 to an undefeated fall season with gold medals at Occoquan Chase, The Head of the Ohio, and Head of the Occoquan. That spring, Dan coxed the men’s Varsity 8 throughout the season including the first ever ACRA championship. In addition to coaching Dan is a competitive cyclist.
